National Safe Boating Week is May 17-23, 2025

As Memorial Day approaches and our summer season arrives, it is important for Americans of all ages to learn about safety on the water.  During National Safe Boating Week, the U.S. Coast Guard and its Federal, State, and local safe boating partners encourage all boaters to explore and enjoy America’s beautiful waters responsibly.

It is recommended that you always wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved Life Jacket appropriate to your water activity. File a float plan with someone you trust. Have a reliable means of communication for your area. Alcohol is the leading contributing factor in fatal boating accidents, so it is recommended that you don’t drink and boat.

Already have your boat operate certificate? Need to brush up on your skills? Nows the time to set aside some time to take an on-water skills course that conforms to the American National Standard. Verified Boating Courses.

Now would also be a good time to schedule a Vessel Safety Check, www.safetyseal.net
